Longitudinal Evaluation of Research Career Intentions among Medical Students: The LEAP-URiM study
Earn $75 for every survey you complete, PLUS $100 bonus for completing one in every year of medical school ($400-$475 total for 4 or 5 surveys, depending on years of training)
1. Are you a first-year medical student who identifies as Black, African American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, other Pacific Islander and/ or Latinx?
2. Are you enrolled in a LCME accredited medical school (You will be asked to enter your AMCAS ID for confirmation)?

This NIH funded study aims to understand how medical students’ interest and intention to pursue careers in research change over the course of medical school.
5-year, longitudinal, mixed-methods approach:
Online surveys at baseline and annually through graduation (n=600)
Annual qualitative interviews with students (n=35)
Quantitative and qualitative data analyses; data integration
Now enrolling first-year URIM medical students
